Warehouse AI, is Databricks SQL worth the switch?

So our team here in the US has been going back and forth on modernising our data warehouse setup and Databricks SQL keeps coming up in the conversation. The AI layer on top of the warehouse is what’s getting the most attention internally but I’m sceptical about how much of that is marketing versus actual capability. Anyone made the move and can give a straight take on whether it delivers?

Clean, well structured data arriving consistently is what separates setups that deliver real value from ones that look impressive in a demo but underperform in production. The pipeline between source systems and Databricks SQL needs to handle schema changes and volume spikes without manual intervention, otherwise the whole thing becomes a babysitting exercise.
