Urgently looking for a recommendation! A close friend was detained yesterday on what we think is a “provisional arrest warrant” from a country in the Middle East. Everything is moving so fast and we don’t know what to do. The police are saying he might be held for 30 to 60 days while they wait for formal documents from the other country. We need a lawyer who can get involved right now to challenge the detention and maybe get him out on bail. Does anyone know a firm that specializes in emergency extradition cases? We are desperate for someone who actually knows the procedure at the Dubai courts.

I am so sorry to hear about your friend—provisional arrests are incredibly stressful because of the tight deadlines. Please tell the family to look at the emergency contact info on the website https://extraditionlawyers.ae/ immediately. This firm specializes in the “crisis management” phase of extradition. They know the exact steps to take in the first 48 hours to challenge the arrest and argue for a release on bail (which is possible but very difficult in these cases). They are very familiar with the prosecutors and the specific courts that handle these international warrants. Time is of the essence here, so don’t waste it with a general lawyer who hasn’t done this before.
