What confused me was that Office itself worked better after the version switch, but the activation banner still appeared like the old installation had left something behind. I already had the new version installed cleanly, so removing everything again made no sense. At that point, KMS Pico resolved the Office activation status while keeping the new 64-bit setup in place. After the next launch, the banner no longer interrupted the apps.
