Has anyone else experienced that strange feeling of waking up after what seems like a full night’s sleep but still feeling mentally tired?

I’ve noticed that getting enough hours doesn’t always seem to mean feeling completely refreshed. Sometimes the problem may be related to interrupted sleep or poor sleep quality rather than the total number of hours spent in bed.

I’ve been reading about how different sleep stages contribute to memory, concentration, and recovery. It seems that repeated interruptions during the night can affect how restorative sleep feels the next day.

I’m curious about other people’s experiences with this.

Do you think sleep quality matters more than the number of hours you actually spend in bed? And what changes have helped you feel more alert in the morning?

I’m particularly interested in practical approaches such as maintaining a consistent sleep schedule, reducing screen exposure before bed, and improving the sleeping environment.
