Has anyone else noticed that Google Ads seems far less forgiving than it used to be? I’m not talking about blatant violations, but normal business behavior: testing new creatives, adjusting budgets, launching new offers. Lately it feels like even small changes can trigger reviews or delays, especially on newer accounts. Meanwhile, older accounts I manage seem to get more leeway doing the exact same things. Is this just confirmation bias, or has account history become a major trust signal? I’m trying to decide how much effort I should put into preserving and acquiring aged accounts instead of treating accounts as disposable

You’re not imagining it — Google’s enforcement has shifted heavily toward behavioral patterns and long-term trust signals. Account history now plays a much bigger role in how changes are interpreted. Older accounts with predictable behavior are often assumed to be “normal,” while new ones are treated cautiously. That’s why many professionals now protect aged accounts carefully and avoid unnecessary disruptions. I used to treat accounts as disposable too, but that mindset caused more problems than it solved. Learning how aged accounts are evaluated, transferred, and maintained completely changed my approach. I found https://adwordsresources.com/en/ particularly useful for understanding why history matters and how people responsibly work with established accounts instead of constantly resetting trust. Stability has become a competitive advantage.

Glad to know it’s not just in my head — this explains a lot.
