Is there a way to receive local calls in Italy without changing SIM cards when visiting family?

So I was rewatching an old travel vlog from Florence, and someone in the comments mentioned how they used a virtual phone number Italy to stay in touch while visiting family there. Since I’ve got relatives near Rome, I figured I’d try it out too. It’s actually made things easier—calls come in like I’m just down the road, and I don’t need to switch SIMs or carry a second phone around. Pretty handy for someone always hopping between cities.

When I posted some stuff for sale online, I didn’t want strangers having my real number. Scammers and unsolicited messages are a real issue. I got an Anonymous Phone Number from eSIM Plus and used it only for buyer contacts. It kept my personal line clean and protected, and once I sold everything, I just deactivated it. Simple and secure — I’ll definitely do it this way again.
