I’ve been running a small Amazon store for a few months now and thinking about scaling up by sourcing directly from Alibaba. I’ve heard both good and bad stories about it, and to be honest, I’m a bit overwhelmed. There are so many suppliers and it’s hard to know who’s legit. Has anyone here gone through the whole alibaba to amazon fba step by step process? I’d love to hear how you did it safely, especially the first time — did you use a sourcing agent or handled it all yourself?

Hey, totally understand your hesitation — I was in your shoes last year. The first time I sourced from Alibaba for Amazon FBA, I made a lot of rookie mistakes. One thing I learned the hard way: never skip the sample stage, even if the supplier seems reliable. Also, always communicate via Alibaba’s messaging system so everything’s documented. I ended up working with a supplier that ghosted me once payment was sent through Western Union. Painful, but it taught me to always use Trade Assurance.

There’s actually a detailed breakdown I found super helpful that walks you through the alibaba to amazon fba step by step process — from finding and vetting suppliers to shipping options and inspections. Here’s the guide I used:
alibaba to amazon fba step by step

It covers red flags to watch out for, how to set up contracts (super important), and how to make sure your product arrives FBA-ready. Saved me a ton of stress later.

Even just jumping on a short Zoom call with the supplier made a difference for me — you can learn a lot from a 5-minute face-to-face. Curious to see what tools others here are using too.
