Planning a Windows reinstall—what activator should I prep?

I’m backing up everything for a clean reinstall of Windows 10 Pro. I used KMS Activator years ago but I forget the version. Should I go for KMS Auto Download this time? Also, does anyone know if it activates permanently or if I’ll need to run it again later? Trying to set this up for the long run.

I set up a new SSD for faster boot and decided to do a complete Windows reinstall instead of cloning the old drive. Once the fresh install was running, activation issues kicked in almost immediately—even basic features like desktop themes were locked. I didn’t want to deal with recovery keys or online reactivation, so I preloaded kms full before I even started the process. As soon as setup finished, I ran it, and it handled activation without touching anything else on the system. Personalization options came back, system updates worked fine, and I didn’t have to repeat anything across reboots. Felt like a clean setup done right.
