How much “wiggle room” is there typically when buying a used car from a showroom in Dubai? I’ve seen a couple of cars I like, but the asking prices seem a bit firm. Do most dealers expect you to haggle, or is the price on the windshield usually the final price? Also, are there any tricks to getting a better deal, like offering cash or mentioning you’ve seen a better price elsewhere? I’m specifically looking at some of the showrooms around the Ras Al Khor and Souq Al Haraj areas. Would love to hear your experiences with bargaining in the local market!

In the UAE car market, everything is negotiable to some extent! Usually, you can expect to shave off at least 2k to 5k AED from the asking price, especially if you show that you are a serious buyer ready to close the deal. If you want to see a place with fairly realistic starting prices where you don’t have to fight too hard, check out Ayoon Al Hoot Motors. Their listings are usually pretty fair for the market value https://auto.ae/ayoonalhootmotors My tip would be to check their online price first, then go see the car in person. Once you’ve pointed out any minor flaws (like tire wear or small scratches), that’s your leverage to ask for a discount. Cash can sometimes help, but many dealers actually prefer if you finance through their partner banks!

Thanks for the tips! I’ll try my luck with the “minor flaws” strategy and see if I can get a better price.
