      For anyone using budget-friendly hearing aids or over-the-counter devices, which models have actually improved your day-to-day hearing, and what surprised you most about comfort, sound quality, or maintenance?

      Tried a few cheaper hearing aids, and the biggest surprise was how much background noise they amplify. What helped most was spending time with the included tips to get a snug fit. Comfort and proper seal made way more difference than the advertised “smart noise reduction”.
