I had a lot of fun playing with this picture. However, my indigo blue pencil is now very short! LOL!!
I used Prismacolor pencils for this picture.
A lovely picture, Carla. It looks like it will be great fun to colour. A tip from me for backgrounds is to use an acohol marker as a base and then use your coloured pencil over the top of it. This saves a lot of lead! Alternatively, I like to use pastels which I seal with hairspray. Give them a go and see what you think! 😀
Janice, thanks for the tip on the markers. Is there a certain brand or two that you would recommend? Something that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg?
No worries, Carla. Always happy to help 😀 I have three sets of markers. The first set I bought are OLEEP, which I got from Amazon. They come in a set of 60 for £14.99 or 80 for £24.98. I have the 80 set. These are excellent starter markers, with a great range of colours and I can highly recommend them. They have a chisel tip one end, which is great for colouring in large areas, and a pointed fibre tip the other end. Touchnew markers are also good. I have a set of 24 skin colours which I also purchased on Amazon for around £18.00. I really like these and they are often well rated in videos I have seen, but three of mine have already dried out and I’ve only used them a few times. My latest set are Arteza Everblend Markers. These are a more expensive marker, but still classed as a budget range considering you can pay several hundreds of pounds for Copic Markers or similar. I have the 120 set which come in a very hefty and very nice case, which were £120.00. They also come in a set of 72 which are £65.99, but unfortunately they are both out of stock on their website at the moment. Hope this helps! J
Gorgeous fairy, Carla!
Thank you Anastasia! She was fun to play with.
