I’ve had my Levante for about two years now and it’s been a great SUV, plenty of power and that Italian flair that makes driving it feel special every time. But over the past few weeks I’ve started noticing a high-pitched whistling noise coming from the engine bay, especially when I’m accelerating hard, and it’s got me a bit concerned. At first I thought it might just be the turbo spooling up, but it’s become more pronounced than it used to be and I’m worried it could be a boost leak or maybe even the beginning of turbo failure. I’ve read that these engines can have issues with the wastegate actuators or the turbocharger itself, and I want to get it checked before it becomes a much more expensive problem. The thing is, I don’t want to just take it to any garage and have them start guessing, because I know these Italian engines can be temperamental and need proper diagnostic work from someone who actually knows them. I’m in Abu Dhabi and I’ve been searching for expert Maserati repair in Abu Dhabi from a workshop that has experience with the Ferrari-derived V6 and the turbo systems on these cars. Has anyone else experienced a similar whistling noise on their Levante or Ghibli and can tell me what the issue turned out to be? I’d really appreciate some advice before I start spending money on diagnostics.
