Several contractors have given us different recommendations. Some suggest full frame replacement while others say inserts are enough. I’m trying to understand the real benefits and drawbacks of each approach. If you’ve gone through this decision before, what factors influenced your choice? Are you satisfied with the results, or do you wish you had selected the other option?

Going with full frame replacement is always the smarter move if you have an older house. Contractors who just suggest inserts are often trying to win the job with a lower price, but inserts actually reduce your total glass viewing area and won’t fix any hidden wood rot inside the walls. Our old brick-to-brick frames were completely drafty, so cutting them out entirely was necessary. Having our Mississauga window replacement done before summer — great team made a massive difference in our cooling bills once the heatwaves hit.
