  I have been feeding my dog the same food three times a day for several years now, based on the recommendations on the package. I got him as a puppy, he is now 8 years old, and during this time he has not only maintained his weight, but even gained a little. Sometimes he refuses to eat, and I thought it was a sign of overfeeding. However, this does not affect his energy, and the vet always says he is fine.
